The Harry W. and Carolyn W. Galbraith Memorial Fund was established in 2014. Grant funds are intended to be used primarily for spay and neuter expenses for cats and dogs. Both pets and stray cats may be spayed or neutered with grant funds. Funds may also be used to support rabies vaccines.

The grant term is August 1, 2026 – July 31, 2027.
Eligibility Criteria
- Confirmation that the organization is a 501(c)(3) public charity, unit of government, or public educational institution
- New or emerging groups that do not have nonprofit status may apply if they have an established nonprofit organization as a fiscal sponsor
- Employee Identification Number (EIN)
- Legal name of organization, address, and contact information
- Primary contact person and title
- Most recent financial statements and/or most recent audit and/or IRS Form 990
- Current year organization operating budget
- List of current board of directors or equivalent governing body
- List of staff administering the project
- Confirmation that the organization operates and is organized so as to not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, gender, familial status, sexual orientation, age, disability, covered veteran status, or other characteristics as identified in the Foundation’s Diversity and Non-Discrimination Statement.
- Additional eligibility criteria specific to the Harry W. and Carolyn W. Galbraith Memorial Fund:
- Applicant organizations must be located within the Foundation’s 25-county service area.
- Organizations must request funding primarily for a spay/neuter program for low-income owners of cats and dogs or free roaming cats, as seed money to start a program where none exists, or an innovative program designed to increase spay/neuter services to low-income pet owners.
- Funding preference will be given to programs that get the most out of grant funds, those that “stretch the dollar.”
