Donor Name: Northern New York Community Foundation

State: New York

County: Saint Lawrence County (NY)

Type of Grant: Grant

Deadline: 07/17/2026

Size of the Grant: Not Available

Grant Duration: Less than 1 Year

Details:

The program provides an opportunity for nonprofits to identify a top priority or project where a grant can make a meaningful impact. This process encourages organizations to focus on their most important initiatives and present a strong application with clear plans and supporting rationale for funding consideration.

The Grants for Good program is made possible in part by generous donors to the Friends of the Foundation Community Betterment Fund. Organizations may also garner grant support through the program from named legacy funds stewarded by the Community Foundation to support a variety of charitable interests that align with the needs of local nonprofits and the region.

Eligibility Criteria

The Northern New Community Foundation stewards a variety of competitive grant programs that are open to eligible tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. Is your organization classified as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization, or a publicly supported organization such as a school district and/or municipality.

Ineligibility

The Community Foundation will not:

  • Fund operations for existing programs or pay off deficits.
  • Reimburse funds directed to a project that is either substantially completed or will be by the time the proposal is considered by the Community Foundation.
  • Provide grants to churches, religious organizations, or to support related activities. Projects that demonstrate clear community benefit may be considered.
  • Award support for endowments of any kind. However, from time to time, endowment support may be considered if the fund is to be stewarded by the Community Foundation.
  • Support individuals other than through scholarship funds.
  • Provide funding for event sponsorships.
