The Next Swell was created in part for the purpose of providing financial academic scholarships to exceptional students pursuing research and/or a degree in a marine science or marine conservation focused area.
The Next Swell® is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization formed for the purpose of cultivating future generations of marine conservationists and scientists.
Funding Information
They will be awarding multiple scholarships of $5,000 for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Eligibility Criteria
- All applicants must be a citizen of the United States of America or a Legal Permanent Resident
- All applicants must be pursuing a graduate degree (Master’s or PhD).
- All applicants must be able to provide proof of attendance (i.e., academic transcript). If a student will be entering their first semester of graduate school in Fall 2026, proof of acceptance will be required.
- All applicants must have a minimum graduate GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
- All scholarship funds must be used for tuition, fees, research fees, or course books and supplies that are required for enrollment at your educational institution.
