The Local Arts Program (LAP) enables the New Jersey State Council on the Arts (NJSCA) to support both existing and emerging local arts organizations that serve the public. Funds granted are used to support local arts nonprofit organizations and other nonprofit organizations within Hunterdon County that provide arts programming, services, and development. Grant awards are competitive and seek to encourage artistic excellence at the local level.

- Supporting on-going programs and/or to expand programs
- Beginning an innovative program/project.
- Artists’ fees; the hiring of New Jersey artists is encouraged and favored.
