The Community Foundation’s flagship initiative, Give for Good Louisville, providing local organizations a platform to raise money, earn special cash prizes, grow their brand, and connect with new and returning supporters. Last year was the biggest year yet, with more than 26,000 donors raising $10.4 million for 645 organizations! Out of the total dollars raised, Foundation fundholders granted nearly $4 million to participating nonprofits, making Give for Good Louisville one of the most popular ways to give back.

If your organization is based in or serves Bullitt, Jefferson, Oldham, Shelby, or Spencer counties in Kentucky, or Clark, Floyd, or Harrison counties in Southern Indiana, you’re invited to join in.

By participating, you’ll gain access to tools, resources, and support to help your organization grow year-round, such as:

An easy-to-use, secure fundraising platform

  • Access to bonus dollars through the prize pool
  • Free training, 1:1 consultations, and networking opportunities
  • Built-in tools like matches, peer-to-peer fundraising, and ready-to-use marketing materials
  • Year-round donor and gift data.

Funding Tiers

This is how they determine the “size” of the organization which is based on the total gross revenue from their IRS 990:

  • $50,000
  • $50,000 – $249,999
  • $250,000 – $1,499,999
  • $1,500,000

Eligibility Criteria

Each year, organizations serving Bullitt, Jefferson, Oldham, Shelby, and Spencer counties in Kentucky, or Clark, Floyd, and Harrison counties in Southern Indiana register to participate in Give for Good Louisville. The following types of organizations are qualified to participate:

  • 501(c)3 Public Charity, including Section 509(a)(1), 509(a)(2), 509(a)(3) Type I & Type II
  • Operate under the fiscal sponsorship of an organization type listed above
  • Private Operating Foundations
  • War Veterans’ Organization under 501(c)19 & 501(c)23 with a 90% war veteran membership rating 
  • Church / Religious Institution or Governmental Unit
