This is a notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) for the STOP (Services, Training, Officers, and Prosecutors) Violence Against Women Formula Grant Program (STOP Program). This program provides grants to states and territories for use by state, local, and Indian Tribal governments, courts, and victim service providers for the more widespread apprehension, prosecution, and adjudication of persons committing violent crimes against women and for the protection and safety of victims.
Funding Priorities
States and territories are encouraged to develop and support projects designed to advance the following public safety priorities (as applicable within the scope of this NOFO):
- Combatting human trafficking and transnational crime, particularly crimes linked to illegal immigration, transnational criminal organizations, and cartel operations, including projects that strengthen law enforcement investigation and prosecution while supporting safety and justice for trafficking victims who have also suffered domestic/dating violence, sexual assault, and/or stalking.
- Projects dedicated to direct victim services and/or criminal justice responses— including investigation, arrest, prosecution, and enforcement of protective orders—particularly in small towns and rural, remote, and Tribal communities.
- Proposals submitted by units of local government and public agencies that certify they comply with federal immigration law.
