Types of Projects
The Program supports two project types:
- Renovation Projects – Complete cranberry bog renovations that improve production, operational efficiency, water management, and long-term viability.
- Enhancement Projects – Targeted investments in equipment, infrastructure, and water management that improve productivity, operational efficiency, and environmental stewardship.
Funding Information
- Applicants may apply for both project types for a combined maximum request of $175,000.
- Renovation Projects
- Reimbursement funding up to $25,000 per acre
- Maximum award of $125,000
- Enhancement Projects
- Reimbursement of up to 80% of total eligible project costs
- Maximum award of $50,000

July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027.

- Eligible activities may include:
- Cranberry vines and planting materials
- Sanding, grading, and leveling
- Drainage and irrigation improvements
- Water management structures
- Excavation and site preparation
- Equipment rental directly related to the renovation
- Eligible activities may include:
- Enhancement Projects
- Eligible projects may include:
- Irrigation system upgrades and automation
- Water management improvements
- Bog efficiency improvements
- Cranberry production equipment
- Harvest and fruit handling equipment
- Monitoring and precision agriculture systems
- Environmental improvements that improve resource efficiency
- Other infrastructure that directly supports cranberry production.
- Eligible projects may include:
Eligibility Criteria
You may be eligible if you:
- Operate a commercial cranberry operation in Massachusetts, as defined.
- Own or manage the property where the project will occur for at least three (3) consecutive years.
- Propose a project located on cranberry bogs greater than one (1) acre in active agricultural use.
- Have legal site control for the proposed project.
- Are in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
